AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF AN ABANDONED VILLAGE
Have you ever walked through my deserted road ? Have you ever entered into those haunted house.? If you not come once here in Bimlagarh where I am. Don't you recognize me ? I am one of the abandoned villages of the country. The story of mine was not like that before one decads. Almost thousand people lived here. I had four ponds, a small streams flowing at a small distance from me. People are going to there farmwork, childrens either going to school far away from me in another village or playing in the vast field. Everyday men, women, children used to come there for worshiping. I still remember that day 10th january, 1997 a massive earthquake hit the region. I was one of the most effected area in the region. At about midnight the earth started to quake. The quake did not last long. On that morning i woke up with the cries of people. Buildings and temples, almost all houses were demolished. Helpless parents were seen shouting for help for their children. Helpless children looking for their parents desperately. I have never seen such a horrible picture. The trees were all uprooted, The shelter of the birds had been utterly destroyed. The rescue team appeared almost four hours of the disaster. They seemed to feel at sea,not knowing how to rescue people in the mean time, one after another dead bodies were taken out. I felt an unbearable pain, but could do nothing. A few days past. I could notice people who had been survived in that disaster, they started to live me probably not finding any reason to stay there anymore. Some lost their children, some lost their husband or wives. I feel that the actually lost the meaning of their lives. Since then I had been left alone. Now I can only call up my golden days.
