Rabindranath Tagore
Rabindranath Tagore was the greatest poet of India. He was born on 7th may, 1861 in jorasanko in kolkata.His father name was Maharshi Debendranath Tagore and his mother name was Sharada Devi. He came from a rich family. Rabindranath was a poet from his boyhood. His early education to place at home by a variety of teachers. Beside poems he wrote novels, dramas, short stories, essays, and hundreds of songs. He won the Noble Prize in 1913 for his poems, Gitanjali. The poet founded the ViswaBharati at santiniketan in 1902.
He gave up Knighthood protest againest the killings at Jalianwallabag by the British.The great poet passed away on August 7 , 1941.He was loved and honoured all over the world as "Viswakabi".We ever remember him through ' Rabindra Santgeet and 'Pachishey Baishak'.
